Getting Started

We work with complete beginners regularly. If you are new, a private or semi-private session is usually the best starting point, it gives your instructor time to understand your body and your goals before putting you in a group setting. We will let you know when you are ready to move to small group sessions if that is where you want to go.

Comfortable, form-fitting athletic wear works best. Avoid loose pants that bunch around the knees when you are on the Reformer. Grip socks are encouraged, you can bring your own or purchase a pair at the studio. However, going barefoot is also acceptable.

We work primarily on the Reformer, along with the Cadillac, Wunda Stability Chair, Stability Ladder Barrel, and mat. The specific equipment used depends on your session format and your individual program.

It can be, and it is one of the areas where STOTT PILATES specifically excels. Its emphasis on alignment, spinal health, and intelligent modification makes it well-suited for clients managing injuries or working around physical limitations. We recommend talking to your doctor or physical therapist before starting if you are in active recovery. Once cleared, we will work with whatever your body needs.

Sessions and Booking

All sessions are booked through MindBody. You can browse available times and book directly from our website.

If you are new to Pilates or working through something specific; an injury, a particular goal, a movement pattern you want to address – private sessions give your instructor the most room to work with you one-on-one. Semi-private is the right choice if you want to bring someone with you, like a spouse, friend, or family member. Small group is ideal if you are confident on the equipment and want to drop into a scheduled class on your own time. Still not sure? Our intro offer is a good way to find out.

Yes. New clients can start with our intro offer, 3 private sessions for $180. It is designed to give you time on the equipment, time with your instructor, and a real sense of whether Pilates Franklin is the right fit. No commitment beyond that.

Please cancel 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full amount for your session type or class.

The Method

STOTT PILATES is a contemporary, evidence-informed method built on modern exercise science. It places particular emphasis on spinal health, neutral alignment, and thoughtful modification. Compared to classical Pilates, it tends to be more clinical and adaptable to a wider range of bodies. It is the method our instructors are certified in, and one reason we are one of the few host training centers in the region

It means we do not just teach Pilates, we certify other Pilates instructors. Pilates Franklin is one of a select number of studios authorized by Merrithew, the STOTT PILATES certifying body, to run official certification courses. That level of credential shapes how our instructors work. They have been trained to a higher standard than most studios require, and that shows up in every session.
